Curriculum Intent

To provide opportunities in all areas of the curriculum, through a progression of knowledge and skills with the aim to create happy, respectful children, who challenge themselves, take risks and develop their resilience for their future lives.

The following values permeate our planning in both the core and foundation subjects:

Helping children recognise and value their individuality and grow in self-esteem and confidence.
Encourage children to be curious, imaginative, creative and resilient.
Make learning relevant and enjoyable for each child.
Promote tolerance and sensitivity towards others and ensure they respect themselves and the beliefs and opinions of others.
Develop a spiritual awareness and sense of awe and wonder about the world.
SMSC is embedded throughout the curriculum ensuring that these values are constantly being developed and referred to, enabling the pupils at The Craylands School to be prepared for living in modern Britain.

S.T.A.R. Curriculum

Our S.T.A.R. curriculum is based around the key life skills that help learners to improve their learning and performance in education, work and life. This is taught through the subjects of history, geography, art and design and design technology.
